Obsidian released the EP White Light in May 2012. The 2012 Indie Music Festival (Las Vegas) awarded Obsidian with 4th Overall Best Band out of the 40 top national bands chosen to attend the showcase. The band is the 2011 winner of Artist of the Year and Album of the Year in the Midwest Rock Awards!
Obsidian captivates their audience with a music soul that gets fans off their feet, rockin and jumpin to hard hitting rhythms while singing along to meaningful, heartfelt lyrics. Obsidian brings to the stage and the industry the attitude and essence of homegrown Rock and Roll in its purest form.
The band was awarded 4th best overall band out of the top 40 national bands at The Indie Music Fest in Las Vegas in April 2012. Obsidian captured Artist of the Year and Album of the Year (Dreamcatcher) and was nominated for Bassist of the Year in the 2011 Project Backstage Midwest Rock Awards.
Obsidian was founded by brothers Nikk & Steven Wolf, a duo that is a force to be reckoned with – according to fans and industry professionals alike. The brothers searched for musicians that shared their music passion and talent. The remote location of Obsidian made the task of finding members to fit the band’s mold seemingly next to impossible. But, destiny always finds a way and the band was gifted with the talent and energy of bassist Hunter Kelso and drummer Caleb Fankhauser, who have joined them in their journey of musical mayhem.
